Robins

They float from tree to ground.
Peacefully, they seek out food.
There is no hurry, no rush --
just a task to be done.

Soon, they will leave my backyard.
Traveling from here to there.
They are merely passing through.
Smiling, I wish them well.

I am too rushed, too hurried.
Life is to be lived and enjoyed.
Everyday moments hold wonder.
Slow down, take them in.

Pages

The year begins.
Blank pages await.
How shall I fill them?
I write my own story.

Each day I am given a new page.
The book begins to take form.
Will the story be a worthy one?
I want to use my gifts wisely.

Each page is a fresh start.
I do not write in isolation.
The story and the day await.
They must be filled.

Clarity

I open my eyes,
but do I see?
I listen to you,
but do I hear?
I hold your hand,
but do I feel?

If I want to see clearly,
I must open my heart.
If I want to truly hear,
I must clear my mind.
If I want to feel deeply,
I must open my soul.

Joy

The sky is cloudless.
My heart is light.

I will look for joy.
It is everywhere.

Life

The cool breeze,
The warm sun,
The beauty of a flower.

I pray that I will cherish them.
I pray that I will stop and look around.

I want to make every moment count.
I want to appreciate the miracle of life.

Grace

Grace is a gift given to me.
I choose to be gracious.

Love is a gift given to me.
I choose to love.

These are gifts I can share.
I will.

Christmas

May you be filled with Christmas cheer,
and may it fill your heart in the coming year.
May you greet those you meet each day
with a smile to cheer them on their way.

May you treat each day like a gift from above,
and enjoy the time you have with those you love.
May you bring something good to all you do,
and let your love and joy come shining through.

May you be filled with wisdom and grace,
and may you live life at an unhurried pace.
May you be the miracle you were meant to be,
and always look for the beauty that is there is to see.
